UNESCO's World Heritage is much more than a List of remarkable sites. It represents the common heritage of humanity – a collection of cultural and natural treasures that transcend borders and generations.

India, a land of millennia of history, is a living witness to the cultural richness of humanity.

It is home to 42 sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, including 34 cultural, 7 natural and one mixed; each site tells a unique story of its evolution, influenced by various dynasties,

religions and artistic movements.

This year, the country is hosting the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee.
